	The game has been running since 2006, so I'm not shocked that there are a few people who didn't fit into the game. Those who can handle the IC/OOC line and don't mind in-character drama really enjoy it. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	First; the journals are connected on an office network and are meant to 'streamline' the office and make it more efficient. Obviously, that's not how anyone uses them at all. :] (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Basically, the editor-in-chief, Richard, is a dick. He likes anything that distracts people from the fact that he's never doing any work at all, so he thought up the brilliant idea for the journals as a way to make the office paperless (you know, he's always caring about the environment). Mostly, however, he likes to use it to either pit people against each other, or read people's melodrama. The journals are, of course, a constant source of tension in the office.

Sometimes people update with work stuff, sometimes personal entries, and quite often, they just update with random conversation material. I've found it different than a lot of other games because we don't really focus on those 10 paragraph, 'this is my entire life' type of updates (in fact, we don't really dictate how long people's updates need to be to count or anything of that regard), so much as updating so people can comment, converse, IM, and then hopefully scene/thread from there. The mods and players come up with random office scenarios, events, etc., to keep things interesting (like the office 'retreat' that is upcoming). It's pretty fun, over all, if you're into it. It's admittedly not everyone's cup of tea.
